Il discorso intorno a Democrazia 2.0 mi piace. Lo trovo intrigante e stimolante. Lo pensano in molti e ne hanno parlato, qualche giorno fa, a Oxford. Alla fine hanno messo ai voti la mozione. Hanno vinto i no. Internet non e’ democratica. Anche io avrei votato no, convinto dalla tesi di Jonathan Zittrain, professore presso l’Oxford Internet Institute che viene sintetizzato cosi’:
notes agreement that the Internet is the greatest force for something in the World, but for what?; essence of democracy is the vote but this is not the point of the Internet which does not follow the binary logic of yes or no, good or bad etc.; it works rather like the IETF: rough consensus and running code; “Wikipedia works in practice but not in theory”; e.g. Wikipedia is not a democracy but still it works because you can fork it at any time; “Internet can be the greatest force for community, even for humanity, but not for democracy”: it is much better than a democracy in which you can only vote from time to time; therefore he urges to vote no.
che Zittrain sia un formalista non mi sorprende, che ad Oxford si gingillino con i quiz un po’ di più. Le maggiori novità però mi sembrano ad Harvard dove il nostro è visiting prof e lavora a farne un centro di ricerca filo-trusted system (stop-badware)…
